Cultural Difference Affects Your Website Conversion

Yoast wrote an interesting post about the cultural differences affecting conversions on a website in different regions of the world. While the US readily accepts fun and comical images and converts better with individuals appearing on images, places in China and Japan gravitates to images that are more business-like and have groups of people in them. That is indeed a very interesting find.

If you are in your local market and paying for ads on Facebook, it is definitely worth testing out your image (fun vs business-like) and/or featuring a person vs featuring a group of people. Track your conversions and see which one works better!

  1. Hi Jing Hong

I’ve read the article – makes for interesting reading. I’ve largely gone for photos of individuals on my site but then my visitors are mainly anglo.

    Cheers
